| Our adventure ended on Flinders Island, in the midst of the wild and tempestuous Bass Straight. Remote, one of 70 small islands that lie in the waters between Tasmania and Australia, it is home to a hardy bunch of fishermen and farmers. Our last camp was set here, amidst the lichen-red rocks of Trousers Point, a perfect ending to an exploration that took us from the very southwest corner of Tasmania to its northernmost islands.
